Overcoming bullying
How EFT can help heal old wounds
Bullying can leave deep emotional scars - even long after the hurtful words and actions have faded. Having been a victim of bullying myself for many years, I know exactly how overwhelming and lasting an impact this experience can have on one's life. Feelings of shame, isolation and fear often linger and affect how we see ourselves and interact with others.
The good news is that with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), you have an effective, holistic tool at your disposal to release these old wounds and build new self-confidence. In this article, you will learn what bullying is, what effects it has and how EFT can help you find long-term freedom from these negative experiences. I also explain how I support you in my 1-to-1 sessions so that you can optimize your healing process.
What is bullying?
"Bullying" describes a group experience in which one or more people are systematically attacked, ostracized or harassed - whether at work, at school or in other social settings. In contrast to "bullying" by an individual, bullying often arises from the dynamics within a group that an individual chooses to target.
Typical characteristics of bullying
Constant negative actions or statements against a particular person.
Power imbalance in which the victim feels helpless or inferior.
Emotional and psychological manipulation that is sometimes subtle, but often incessant.
The effects of bullying
Victims of bullying often experience massive psychological stress. The typical consequences include
Low self-esteem: Constant criticism or exclusion often leads to doubts about one's own worth.
Loss of trust: Bullying undermines trust in others and makes it difficult to form healthy relationships.
Persistent stress and anxiety: The fear of being rejected or attacked again manifests itself in constant tension - sometimes even in physical symptoms such as insomnia or tension.
Social isolation: those affected often withdraw and avoid contact in order to avoid further pain.
Unprocessed bullying experiences can influence life for years or even decades by shaping one's own perception and making important life decisions more difficult.
How EFT can help
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as "tapping acupressure", is a method that combines modern psychology with the principles of acupressure. By gently "tapping" certain meridian points on the body, you focus on the feelings or memories that are causing you stress. In this way, the body and mind system can be calmed and supported at the same time.
Why EFT works for bullying
Letting go of negativity: EFT makes it possible to gradually release the painful emotions associated with bullying, such as shame, anger or sadness.
Stress reduction in the nervous system: Tapping noticeably reduces stress reactions so that the body is no longer so much on alert.
Sustainable new connections: Repeatedly tapping on specific issues weakens old negative thought and behavior patterns and at the same time strengthens new, more constructive beliefs.
Building resilience: The more emotional baggage you let go of, the freer and more secure you will feel in future situations - both professionally and privately.
My personal experience with EFT
It was only through EFT that I understood how much old bullying experiences were affecting my present. After many attempts with pure talk and behavioral therapies, I realized that although my mind could understand some things, my body still remained in a state of tension and insecurity. It was only when I started tapping that the deeper emotional blockages were released and my nervous system became noticeably more balanced. I suddenly felt freer, more confident and much more relaxed in situations that would previously have overwhelmed me. This not only had an impact on my private life, but also on my professional development: more self-confidence and a better sense of my own limits made it easier for me to develop professionally. It was precisely this positive experience that eventually led me to become an EFT coach myself and support other people on their journey.
1-to-1 sessions: How I can support you
You can always try EFT yourself. However, for serious or long-lasting bullying experiences, working with an experienced EFT coach is irreplaceable. In my individual sessions I offer:
Joint root cause analysis: We identify the experiences or triggers that are still bothering you today.
Individually customized tapping sessions: I help you to find the right phrases and affirmations that are tailored to your situation.
Continuous support: We monitor your progress together and adapt the EFT exercises to new insights or emotions if necessary.
Rebuilding your self-esteem: We integrate positive beliefs and affirmations into your tapping sessions to soothe your inner critic in the long term and boost healthy self-confidence.
